Faculty Dev Prog on “Data Science Applications in Sciences & Technologies” commences at Deptt of Computer Sciences, BGSB University, Rajouri

Rajouri : Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Data Science Applications in Sciences and Technologies” started at Department of Computer Sciences from March 28th, 2022. More than 100 participants have registered from India and around the globe, consisting of Faculty Members, Research Scholars, Students and people from industry for this FDP. During this One Week FDP, renowned Resource persons from both Academia and Industry will deliver lectures followed by Hands on Practice.

Prof. Akbar Masood, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University applauded the Department of Computer Sciences, BGSB University for organising the FDP which has relevance to current digital age and stressed on the need for conducting such programmes in future also.

Prof. Iqbal Parwez, Dean Academic Affairs who was also the Chief Guest on the Occasion stressed the need of Organising such FDP’s and threw light on the theme of the programme. Prof. Asif Hussain, Dean School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences was also presented during the inaugural Session of the FDP and congratulated the Department for organizing this FDP. They appreciated the Head, Department of Computer Science and his team for putting their efforts for organizing this FDP amidst the current pandemic.

Dr. Majid Bashir Malik, Head, Department of Computer Sciences presented the welcome address and presented a brief note about the FDP and the Resource Persons who will be delivering lectures on different themes of the FDP.

On Day 1 of the FDP, Prof. Auqil Ahmed, Chairman and Professor, Department of Statistics &Operations Research, AMU, Aligarh has delivered a lecture on “Data Analysis Using Software Packages” followed Dr. Surajit Debnath, Head, Department of Medical Laboratory Technology, Women’s Polytechnic (AICTE), Tripura has delivered lecture on “Biomedical Applications of Data Science -Focusing Vaccine design and Cancer Diagnostics – through PYTHON based GUI”.

During this one Week FDP, renowned resource both from industry and academia like Prof. M. N. Hoda, Prof. MMS Beg, Dr. Mohammad Zakwan, Dr, Muheet Ahmed, Mr. Vinay Kumar Singh, Dr. Shahab Shaqib Shohel, Dr. Lov Kumar and Prof Mansaf Alam will be delivering lectures during the upcoming sessions.

The proceedings of the Inaugural Session were handled by Ms. Najmu Nissa, Research Scholar, Department of Computer Science and overall management of the FDP is taken care by Organizing Secretaries Dr. Gulfam Ahamad (Asst. Prof.) and Dr. Mohd Naseem (Asst. Prof.) from Department of Computer Science, BGSB University, Rajouri.
