DC Kishtwar chairs RTA Meeting, Sanctions 12 contract carriage, 1 stage carriage and 1 route change permits

Kishtwar: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma Tuesday chaired a meeting of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Kishtwar and discussed various matters related to public transport in the district, besides sanctioning permits for different categories of vehicles.
The Deputy Commissioner, who is the chairman of RTA, sanctioned 12 contract carriage permits, one stage carriage permit and 1 route change permit, besides granting permission for the establishment of a designated Taxi stand at Zellana.
Some applications were deferred and sent for reconsideration to the committees.
The Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar stressed upon the concerned officer to diligently conduct the verification of registered vehicles operating in the district. He stressed that there must be no scope for deceit at all.
He also called for effective traffic regulation in the Kishtwar town particularly near educational institutions and govt offices so that the public don’t face any inconvenience.
The meeting was attended by RTO Ramesh Samotra and DySP HQ Ashish Mahajan.
