Jammu :The Sports Goods Export Promotion Council, New Delhi, on Tuesday organised an Inaugural Function to mark the start of Capacity Building & Quality Up gradation of Cricket Bats at Industrial Training Institute (ITI), R.S.Pura, Jammu.
The occasion was graced by Sudershan Kumar, Director Skill Development, J&K; Anoo Malhotra, Director Industries & Commerce, Jammu; TarunDewan, Executive Director, SGEPC; Sunil Gupta, Principal Director MSME TDC and Sumnesh Agarwal, COA Member, SGEPC.
The other participants who graced the event were Farooq Ahmad Khan, Joint Director, Skill Development, Jammu and Ravi Gupta, Assistant Director, Joint Director Office, Jammu.
Welcoming the dignitaries and participants, the Executive Director SGEPC, TarunDewan briefed about the training programme for Cricket Bat manufacturing in Jammu, being sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India.
The Principal Director, MSME TDC, Sunil Gupta highlighted the activities of the training programme viz duration, registration, course fee, certification etc. He also stated that the training will be conducted in four phases with each batch consisting of 25 candidates/trainees starting from March 28, 2022.
Speaking on the occasion, Superintendent ITI R.S.Pura listed all achievements of the Institute. He stated that it was a great privilege for ITI R.S. Pura for hosting the prestigious training/course which will enhance the skills among youths that enable them to become self-employed.
The Director Skill Development and the Director Industries & Commerce, in their address, appreciated the initiative taken by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India for organizing a training programme for Cricket Bat manufacturing in Jammu. “The skill development of the trainees will definitely enhance their employability in the industry” they noted.
The Superintendent ITI R.S. Pura along with dignitaries also inspected the various machinery installed in the Bat manufacturing Trade.
The event ended with a vote of thanks by Sumnesh Aggarwal, COA Member, SGEPC.
