ICDS Kishtwar organises orientation Prog on Poshan Abhiyan K H News Service

Kishtwar : Department of Integrated Child Development Services Monday organized a day-long capacity building orientation Program on “POSHAN ABHIYAN” here at conference Hall DC office complex.
The aim was to re-orient the Child Development Project Officers and field staff of ICDS about the effective implementation of Poshan Abhiyan.
Program officer ICDS/ADC Kishtwar Kishori Lal Sharma was the chief guest, while Assistant Commissioner Panchayat Zakir Hussain Wani was the guest of honour.
Others who attended the workshop included CDPO Ifat Ara; CDPO Drabshalla Farhat Shamim Khan; CDPO Inderwal Kuldeep Kumar; Assistant Professor GDC Chatroo Dr.Jamshed, besides Dr Kanchan, Dr Prince Gupta (AYUSH), Supervisors of District Kishtwar and other field staff.
The program started with the welcome address by CDPO Drabshalla Farhat Shamim Khan followed by a Poshan Abhiyan song sung by Shameem Begum an official of the CDPO office Kishtwar.
During the workshop, Assistant Prof. GDC Chatroo Dr. Jamshed gave a detailed PowerPoint Presentation about the aims and objectives of Poshan Abhiyan.
He also shared many insights of the Poshan Abhiyan and enlightened the officers and field staff about the various aspects of malnutrition among the children, adult girls and lactating mothers.
Speaking on the occasion, PO, ICDS Kishtwar said that it is imperative to make every individual free from malnutrition and other associated deficiencies. He stressed upon the officers to work with zeal and zest so that the goal of having a malnutrition free society is achieved.
He gave an overview of the responsibilities and achievements of the department and said that ICDS functionaries have played a very pro-active role in implementation of Poshan Abhiyan in the district to make “POSHAN Abhiyan” a success.
ACP, Zakir Hussain Wani emphasized that different departments like ICDS, RDD, Panchayat Raj, Health, Education should work in a coordinated manner for achieving best results under the ” POSHAN ABHIYAN”.
Among others who spoke on the occasion were CDPO Inderwal Kuldeep Kumar, Dr Prince Gupta from Ayush Department, Madiha Fatima a class VI student from Mother’s Pride School Kishtwar, Dr. Kanchan (Department of Health and family welfare).
