Srinagar: The Registrar Cooperative Society J&K, Shafqat Iqbal Monday convened a meeting here to review the progress on registration of new cooperative societies/cooperatives and FPOs; revival of cooperatives societies/cooperatives; progress under Capex Budget 2021-22 and progress on modernization of Super Bazars and other issues related to the department.
The meeting was attended by Additional Registrar Jammu/Kashmir, all Deputy Registrars and all Assistant Registrars. The participants from Jammu division attended meeting through virtual mode.
In the meeting, the Registrar reviewed the progress on registrations of new cooperative societies/cooperatives and FPOs to meet the allocated targets and issued directions to expedite the registration process. In the meeting, stress was also laid on the revival of Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) to ensure their functioning as per their mandate.
The Registrar highly emphasized on efficient utilization of funds of approved schemes/activities/works under Capex Budget 2021-22. He further reiterated on coordinating with respective executive agencies for timely completion of projects and incurring expenditure.
The meeting also discussed working of Super Bazars and directed Deputy Registrars of those districts where there are no super bazars to identity land and send the proposal for land availability to the Registrar office within a week. The meeting also took review of modernization works of various Super Bazars in various districts.
In this meeting, the Registrar further took note of election process of the Cooperative Societies and it was informed in the meeting that elections have been conducted in 80 percent of the Societies.
The Registrar directed all DRs to send proposals for election notification for remaining Societies within a week. Stress was also laid on revival planning of cooperative training institutions and specific directions were issued to the Deputy Registrars of Srinagar and Jammu districts for timely submission of proposals for revival of these institutions. The Registrar Cooperative Societies advised the officers to work whole heartedly and achieve the desired/set targets within the fixed timelines.
