Dir YSS e-launches mega Plantation drive across J&K

Jammu: Director Youth Services and Sports (YSS), Gazanfar Ali on Monday e-launched the Plantation Drive of the Department across J&K by planting saplings in an impressive function at Khel Gaon, Nagrota.The Director was accompanied by Special Secretary Youth Services and Sports Department, Mohammad Ashraf Bhat and several officers of the Department.
The slogan of the event was “Let’s plant trees for our survival.”
The program began with the pledge of planting trees for better atmosphere, healthy environment and survival.
While speaking on the occasion, the Director Sports shared the details about the mega plantation drive being carried out by the Department.
“As you know, our Department is launching a mega Plantation Drive across J&K, under the supervision of Principal Secretary to Government Department of Youth Services and Spots J&K, Alok Kumar and the most beautiful and alluring aspect of this plan is that everyone has to hang his/her name plate on the plant/tree which he/she plants,” said Director Sports.
He hoped that all the stakeholders would show great enthusiasm and make this drive a great success.
He further said that plants give us oxygen, food and what not, so it is our prime duty to plant trees and make the environment healthier and atmosphere happier.
Joint Director YSS Kashmir, Bashir Ahmed while addressing the gathering said that this unique way of planting trees is the brain child of worthy Director Sports.
All the District Youth Services and Sports Officers simultaneously launched the Plantation Drive in their respective districts.
Prominent among others who were present on this occasion included Jatinder Mishra, Deputy Director YSS; Ravi Kumar, Deputy Director (Plan); Sunil Kumar Sharma, Executive Engineer, AEE of JK Sports Council’s Engineering wing, Accounts Officer Directorate; Mohd Hussain Bhat, outgoing AO of Directorate; Sukhdev Raj Sharma, DYSSO Jammu, I/C Media and Publicity YSS (J) Rajesh Dhar,I/c works Vishal Salathia and other senior officials and officers of the Department.
