Udhampur :To mark the World Tuberculosis (TB) Day, an impressive programme was organized by District Tuberculosis / Health Society in collaboration with Government College for Women here at District Head quarter.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Mohammad Syed Khan was the chief guest, while Chief Medical Officer, Udhampur Dr K C Dogra was the guest of honour on the occasion.
At the outset, District Tuberculosis Officer, Dr. Kavi Raj Sharma presented a welcome address and briefed about the achievements and work done in the field of eliminating Tuberculosis disease in the district.
A rally comprising 50 GNM paramedical college students was also taken out from District Hospital Udhampur with banners and placards with the awareness messages about prevention of TB in the society.
The rally passed through Hospital road, Sailan Talab Chowk, Chabutra Bazaar, Gole market, MH Chowk and culminated at District Tuberculosis / Health Society Udhampur.
The rally was followed by an impressive function where the participants were educated about TB treatment, prevention and symptoms through folk songs which were presented by the students of Govt. College for Women, Udhampur.
Earlier, National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) performance indicators with a documentary on the Sub National Certification for TB Free Claims survey were presented. Appreciation certificates and mementoes were distributed among the active officials and students by the Chief Guest & Dignitaries on the occasion.
Medical Superintendent DH, Dr Vijay Raina, District Health Officer, Dr Mohd Yaseen, HoD Music GCW Udhampur, Dr Seema Sharma DIO, Dr Chander Kanta, Assistant Prof. Music GCW, Yash Kumar and other Officers and Officials of concerned departmentalso witnessed the programme.
