Pr Secy I&C inspects ongoing works at NIFT Campus Budgam

B’gam : Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce (I&C), Ranjan Prakash Thakur Saturday visited the under construction site of National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Campus at Ompora Budgam to inspect the pace and progress of ongoing works on this prestigious project.
The Principal Secretary was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza; Director NIFT, Dr Javed Ahmad Wani, Executive Engineer SIDCO, contractors and other concerned officers.
During his visit, the Principal Secretary took stock of progress made in the construction work of Academic cum Administrative Block, Auditorium Incubation, Canteen, Boys and Girls hostels, Guest House, site development, boundary wall and other construction works going on at the campus.
Emphasizing on work expedition, the Principal Secretary directed the concerned contractor to raise number of work force and ensure pending works on Incubation block, Administrative block, 4 Residential blocks, Open Air Theatre and Canteen is completed on war footing so that class work from the new campus can be started from May, 2022.
He also gave directions for speedy work and instructed the concerned executing agency to expedite work on remaining blocks like Boys and Girls Hostels, Auditorium, 6 Residential blocks, which need to be completed by end of the month of May.
The Principal Secretary further emphasized that work of boundary wall construction, water filtration plant, glass fitting, electric fitting and landscaping are completed within the given timelines. He instructed concerned executing agency to ensure that the work on all blocks goes hassle-free and any arising issues should be taken up with the relevant quarters for timely intervention and redressal.
