Ramban: MSK, DLSA organise awareness prog on Legal rights of Women

Ramban: District Level Centre for Women Ramban (Mahila Shakti Kendra) in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority Friday organized a legal awareness programme on legal rights of women, here at Government High School, Ramsoo.
Tehsildar Ramsoo, Imran Naik was the chief guest, while CDPO, Mohammad Ismail, Women Welfare Officer (WWO) MSK, Nadia Hamid, District Coordinators, Muzamia, Versha Parihar , representatives from DLSA, AWWs, and others attended the camp.
Speaking on the occasion, the Tehsildar said that women are always equal to their male counterparts in every field and profession. He said women are making the nation proud as they have reached to the highest echelons of the society.
On the occasion, resource person Advocate Hijazi Ashraf and Kumar Harsh Vijay sensitized the participants about their legal rights and also briefed about the violence and the types of violence faced by the women in general.
The participants were made aware regarding prevention and elimination of violence against them and the role of women for the progress of the Nation as a whole.
Meanwhile, WWO and District Coordinators informed the participants regarding women centric schemes.They said Mahila Shakti Kendra is a one stop destination for women in need of help.
The participants were also educated about the provision of women helpline number 181 which has been launched to help women in distress.
