Rajouri: To take good governance to the grassroots level and strengthen participatory democracy, the Lieutenant Governor, J&K Manoj Sinha has decided to interact with the PRIs on March 29 2022 through virtual mode.
In this regard, the District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal Friday chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to discuss and finalize the arrangements in this regard.
Officers who attended the meeting included ADDC, Pawan Kumar; DFO Rajouri, Arshdeep Singh; ADC Rajouri, Sachin Dev Singh; ACD, Vijay Kumar; ACP, Abdul Rashid Kohli; SE Hydraulics, JP Singh; CMO, Dr Shamim Un Nissa Bhatti; CEO Education, Shailash Kumari; CAHO, Dr Fazal Hussain; DIO NIC, Muzaffar Hussain; AD Planning, Mohd Rafi and other concerned officers.
At the outset, the ADDC informed the meeting that the upcoming PRI Conference would be chaired by the Lieutenant Governor J&K on 29th March 2022 wherein he will interact with the PRIs of all the districts through virtual mode. He also apprised that all the PRIs are to be registered first to enable them to attend the meeting.
Addressing the officers in the meeting, the DDC said the Government is trying to encourage the participatory democracy and making Panchayati Raj institutions more powerful, vibrant in true sense.
Underlining the objective of the virtual program, the DDC said that taking feedback from the PRIs on the functioning of the administration, execution of the works on the ground, besides getting first hand information about their concerns and issues are some of the key aspects of this interaction.
He asked the concerned officers to ensure that all the PRIs of the district participate in the program and directed them to put in place all the required arrangements well in advance for the conduct of the virtual interaction.
The DDC also asked the Assistant Commissioner Panchayat to get all the PRIs of the district registered well before the virtual meeting. He also directed the concerned officers to display specific achievements of different sectors during the event.
He also issued instructions for saturation of various schemes presently under implementation in the district as early as possible.
The DDC also exhorted upon the officers to formulate the district capex budget plan for the financial year 2022-23 in consultation with the PRIs for the holistic development of their areas.
