World TB Day celebrated at Anantnag

Anantnag : World TB day was celebrated Thursday at Town Hall, here, to spread awareness among the public about devastating health, social and economic consequences of TB and to step up efforts for its elimination.
This year’s TB day is being celebrated under the theme of ‘Invest to End TB, Save Lives’. A pledge was taken by officials and attendants present to step up efforts to eliminate TB and take remedial steps in this direction.
It is in place to mention that District Anantnag is one among three districts in J&K that has bagged gold for its efforts towards elimination of TB and progress achieved in line with the aim of achieving TB free status by 2025.
The event was attended by ADDC Anantnag, Principal GMC Anantnag, CMO Anantnag, Dy. CMO, BMOs and other officials from the health department. Students of ANM/ GNM schools also participated in the event. The event was organized by DTC Anantnag.
