Police facilitates meeting with families of slain cops, launches plantation drive with NoKs in G’bal

G’bal : In order to express solidarity and perceive the well-being of the families of the slain cops Police in Ganderbal facilitated an interaction meeting at DPL Ganderbal with the families of slain cops who had laid down their lives in the line of duty and a plantation drive was launched along with NoKs as a part of Aazadi Ka Amrit Maha Utsav.
According to a police statement, SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar, ASP Ganderbal, Dy SP Hqrs Ganderbal, Dy SP DAR Ganderbal and other officers of the district were present on the occasion.
The meeting was organised to take stock of the welfare of the families of slain cops who laid their precious lives in safeguarding the sovereignty and integrity of the country. SSP Ganderbal while addressing the NOKs of slain cops assured them of every possible help and lauded the role played by their loved ones in sacrificing their lives for the sake of the country.
He further said that J&K police will always remain indebted to their services by creating an atmosphere of peace & stability. SSP Ganderbal emphasised the NOKs of slain cops to consider Police department as their family and share their problems with them.
During interaction, various grievances were raised by the participants and they were assured that these issues will be taken up at appropriate level for timely redressal. NOKs of slain cops expressed their satisfaction and hoped to further strengthen this bond.
Later, a plantation drive was held at DPL Ganderbal by planting hundreds of saplings of plants in the memory of slain cops with the aim and motive “GREEN JK DRIVE”. All the senior officers of the district took part with fervour and enthusiasm.
The main aim of this initiative is to promote greenery in our establishments as a part of larger sustainable Ecological Development and to propagate the message among general public that plantation drive should be inculcated among people as fundamental duty towards environment. People should maintain balanced relation with the environment for future sustainability. As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahautsav the NoKs of slain cops also took their pivotal part in plantation drive to commemorate slain copds.
