Dr Samoon inaugurates administrative block of Govt Polytechnic College Udhampur

Udhampur : Principal Secretary, Skill Development Department, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, Thursday visited Government Polytechnic College Udhampur and inaugurated the administrative block in the institute.
Director, Skill Development Department, Sudershan Kumar and Additional Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Mohammad Syed Khan were present on the occasion.
Principal of College, Engineer Vivek Mahajan, apprised the Principal Secretary of functioning of the college, existing infrastructure, total strength of students, courses being run in the college, activities and programs being conducted at the institute. He also briefed him about the institutional plan for development of the college.
Dr Samoon stressed upon imparting quality training to students besides motivating the students for self employment and entrepreneurship which would eventually make the youth self reliant.
He asked the College authorities to facilitate the pass out students so that they can start enterprise and serve the society by creating employment. He asked the JKPCC and PWD (R&B) to speed up the construction work and complete the remaining ongoing works in the institution at an earliest. He also asked for exploring possibilities to acquire additional land for construction of hostel for the students of the Institute. He assured that College buses will be provided to sort out the transport issue for the staff as well as students of the institution.
Later, Dr Samoon had a round of the building and inspected class rooms, labs and library of the college. He also interacted with the students, teachers and staff of the institution.
