Public Outreach Prog held under Block Diwas at GHSS Ramnagri Shopian

Shopian: As part of weekly Block Diwas proceedings a Public Outreach Programme was held Wednesday in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School Ramnagri, Shopian.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, Chief Planning Officer, Shopian, Khursheed Ahmed Khatana, BMO, Shopian, DYSSO, BDO, Ramnagri, besides a large number of people attended the Programme.
The Programme witnessed participation of scores of individuals and deputations including PRI members who projected their demands and apprised District Administration about the problems faced by the inhabitants of their respective areas.
The people submitted memorandum of demands highlighting issues including better road connectivity, drinking water supply in uncovered areas and other amenities.
The other main issues highlighted during the programme include provision of road connectivity, drinking water supply in uncovered areas, IAY cases, Lanes and bylanes, installation of Transformers etc.
On the occasion, DC gave patient hearing to the participants and passed on spot instructions to the concerned departments for time bound resolution of all the issues.
He said the government has launched initiatives to promote self-employment for youths to make them self-reliant. He also appealed to PRIs to come forward in identifying eligible and deserving people to get benefitted from youth-centric schemes.
The DC directed officers to expedite the execution of works and submit the status report.
Meanwhile, he informed that panchayats have been empowered only with an aim to solve the people’s problems and issues quickly within the shortest possible time for the well-being of the people.
He also inspected the various classrooms and emphasized upon the teachers to teach the students well.
Later, DC visited Government Degree College, Shopian, where he took a round of classrooms, interacted with the students, enquired about their study and stressed on punctuality of students and teachers.
