DLSA Kupwara conducts legal awareness prog at Distt Jail

Kupwara: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Kupwara Wednesday conducted a legal awareness programme at District Jail, Kupwara regarding the rights of prisoners.
The programme was presided over by Secretary DLSA, Muzamil Ahmad Wani. Sub Judge, R K Tadyal and TehsildarKupwara were also present at the occasion.
In his address, Secretary DLSA provided thorough awareness to the prisoners regarding their different rights from a legal perspective. He assured full legal support from DLSA and informed that jail inmates who need legal support including services of Advocates shall be provided to them as and when required.
Other speakers including Superintendent Jail, Shahbaz Ahmad and TehsildarKupwara, Javaid Ahmad also spoke on the occasion.
Later, the officers interacted with the jail inmates and enquired about their health and wellbeing of jail inmates including the facilities being provided at the District jail. The Programme was conducted by Advocate Umar Malik.
