DDC inaugurates newly constructed works in Kishtwar Township

Kishtwar: District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma Wednesday inaugurated Lane & drain here from Jamia Masjid to Islamia Faridia School completed under “My Town My Pride”, with an estimated cost of Rs.6.80 lakh.
During his visit, he also listened to the grievances of the people of ward No. 6 & ward no. 8 of Kishtwar Municipality besides inspected the Sanitation work.
He was accompanied by President MC Kishtwar Sajjad Ahmed Najjar, Executive Officer MC Taraq Balwan, XEns, SHO, besides others. He also took stock of Sanitation and the progress of civic works in the twin wards and appealed the local and the shopkeepers to follow sanitation protocols by dumping the house/shop wastes in the Dust bins installed by Municipality at designated places.
Meanwhile, he exhorted upon the Municipal authorities to rope in the NCC and NSS volunteers to sensitize and make people aware of the Sanitation habits.
While inspecting the civic works in the different wards, the Deputy Commissioner directed the XEn PHE and XEn PWD to strictly follow the guidelines for the repair of the Lane and drains and laying of water pipe lines.
The EO MC Kishtwar was asked to closely monitor the pace and quality of works being executed in the Municipal limits.
The Municipal authorities were further directed to construct toilet facilities at the Gudhali Chowk and Mini Bus stand for the convenience of commuters and visitors.
Later in the afternoon, the DDC visited the Keshwan area and presided over the Block Divas- Public Grievance Redressal Camp there.
ADDC Kishtwar Sham Lal, ACD Kishtwar, Atul Dutt Sharma, DDC member Shareefa Begum,BDO Thakrie,NT Keshwan, Sarpanch Keshwan, Locals, PRIs, concerned officers besides locals and prominent citizens of the area attended the camp.
The locals raised several issues and demands pertaining to education, health, road, water and up-gradation of basic amenities.
The DDC gave a patient hearing and assured them timely redressal and issued on the spot directions to concerned officers for redressing the demands.
He directed Naib Tehsildar Keshwan to regularly check the punctuality in the government offices/schools under his jurisdiction and submit a daily report.
