The day was celebrated by planting saplings in village Khandaan falling in comptt. 08/SJ of Dhandal forest block.
The students from the schools of the area were also included and were made to plant saplings. They were enlightened with the benefits of growing trees and were given responsibility to take care of the planted saplings in the future.
It is pertinent to mention here that the world forestry day is being celebrated since 2012 as decided by the United Nations General Assembly, and this year theme was “Forests and sustainable production and consumption.”
