Distt Admin Pulwama launches crackdown against illegal mining

Pulwama : The District Administration Pulwama Wednesday launched a massive crackdown on illegal mining and seized many vehicles in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Baseer ul Haq Choudhary seized many vehicles and machines, used in illegal mining, transportation of raw materials illegally during raids in Awantipora area.
The DC was accompanied by ADC Awantipora and Tehsildar Awantipora.
In line with zero tolerance for illegal mining, DC along with his team conducted raids on different areas of Awantipora to check illegal mining, extraction and transportation of raw materials.
These JCB machines and vehicles were being used in illegal mining, extraction, transportation of raw materials illegally extracted during this operation.
Choudhary warned of strict action against the illegal practice and urged people to cooperate with the administration. “Action under relevant sections of law will be taken against anyone found to be indulged in illegal mining”, he added.
