DDC Rajouri reviews implementation of J&K CTMFFP & MAT

Rajouri : District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal Wednesday chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to review the status of the financial assistance sanctioned in favor of the patients under J&K Cancer treatment and management fund for poor (CTMFFP) and J&K Medical aid trust (MAT).
The meeting was attended by the CMO, Dr Shamim Un Nissa Bhatti; DIO NIC, Muzaffar Mir; MS DH, Dr Mehmood; Tehsildars and other concerned officers.
At the outset, the Chief Medical Officer informed that to help poor cancer patients of J&K, the Government has approved a separate fund to bear the medical expenses of these patients under J&K Cancer Treatment and Management Fund for Poor (CTMFFP) and J&K Medical Aid Trust (MAT).
She also informed that the fund provides necessary financial assistance to the people who come from poor backgrounds for cancer treatment and management including surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy in government hospitals.
The meeting was further apprised that under Cancer Treatment and Management Fund for Poor (CTMFFP), only permanent residents of J&K whose family income doesn’t exceed Rs 20,000 per month are eligible to receive the financial assistance.
While taking note of the number of cancer patients identified so far, it was informed that as many as 30 patients have been identified. The DDC asked the CMO to share the list of the patients with the Tehsildars concerned to verify that the family income of the patient does not exceed Rs 20000 per month.
Speaking at the meeting, the DDC said that this scheme is immensely useful and appealed to the public to take maximum benefit of this assistance.
Underlining the need to generate mass awareness among the cancer poor patients about the scheme, he asked the concerned officers to educate the masses about the benefits of the same so that all the eligible persons are covered under the scheme. He also asked them to involve PRIs in the awareness campaign.
