DC Kupwara chairs Mega Block Diwas at Qalamabad, Mawar

DM also appeals youth to get benefits under Mission Youth

Kupwara : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din Wednesday chaired a Mega Block Diwas programme at Qalamabad, Mawar of Kupwara district.
ADDC Kupwara, Altaf Ahmad Khan; ADC Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir, ASP, BDC Chairperson, Officers from Civil administration and PRIs, besides, general public attended the daylong Block Diwas programme.
The DC in his address said that the aim of holding weekly Block Diwas is to hear the people at their door steps and address their developmental issues and grievances.
He assured the PRIs that their genuine developmental issues shall be resolved on priority.
Referring to the Mission Youth, the DC appealed the unemployed youth to take benefit of different self-employment schemes under Mission Youth programme to generate livelihood for themselves and others as well. He emphasized the need for channelizing the energy of the youth and utilising it in a right direction for their welfare.
The DC directed the PRIs to conduct multiple awareness programmes at Panchayat level for the youth so that they can get engaged in constructive activities. He also directed them to have complete data of the qualified persons in their concerned panchayats.
ADDC Kupwara, ADC Handwara and ASP also spoke on the occasion.
Earlier, PRIs and senior citizens projected various developmental issues of the area before the chair.
Officers from Administration also spoke and replied to the queries raised by the PRIs and public. They also gave awareness regarding developmental schemes of their respective departments.
On the occasion, awareness about Mission Youth Schemes was also given to the participants.
Block Diwas was also held at Tangdar which was chaired by SDM Karnah, Dr.Gulzar Ahmed Rather. BDC Chairpersons, PRIs and concerned Officers attended the block diwas.
SDM Lolab, Aijaz Ahmad Bhat also chaired a block diwas event at Sogam in which PRIs and officers participated.
