DC Ang conducts extensive tour of dev works, Identifies land for Mini Sectt Pahalgam

Ang: Block Diwas was held Wednesday at four locations of the district viz. Yanner, Pahalgam, Khoveripora and Chek I Wangund.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr PiyushSingla presided over the function at Yanner and Pahalgam, while Additional District development Commissioner (ADDC) Bashir Ahmad presided over the function at Khoveripora. Block diwas was also held at Chek I Wangund, Dooru and was presided over by ADC, Gulzar Ahmad.
At Yanner, several PRI members put forth their grievances regarding land disputes, deployment of staff to educational institutions, replacement of electric poles, upgradation of playground at Aishmuqam among others.
The DC on the occasion said that the PRIs are worthy of praise for their continued efforts at ground level for various development initiatives. It is the responsibility of officers and the public to further the PRI institutions and develop an encouraging atmosphere for their functioning.
He said 1500 works will be completed in the area under various developmental schemes and the contribution of the PRIs in these development projects is unparalleled.
Addressing the PRIs, he said the rapid pace of development will continue with their coordinated efforts. All officials have been directed to aid the PRI members and implement schemes in consultation with them. He said constant feedback is being solicited regarding development works undertaken.
Referring to social audit of welfare schemes, the DC said that NFSA special audit was conducted and based on the feedback received and deserving beneficiaries will be allocated to the correct category and will receive ration as such. He directed the PRIs and officials to start social audits of other welfare schemes both to spread awareness among the people and increase the efficiency of schemes.
Chairman, DDC Council MY Gorsi lauded the efforts of district administration and said that Panchayats have been equipped to make decisions for their own welfare.
The DC held a public darbar at Town Hall Pahalgam. Responding to grievances raised regarding PMAY house allotments, the DC said that after concerted efforts of various departments, pending PMAY cases were sanctioned in keeping with BOCA construction guidelines. He said that the path for future PMAY cases has been paved and people should responsibly take benefit of the scheme.
Responding to a query regarding construction of residential houses in Aru, the DC said that as per directions of HC, only repair and renovation can be carried out. Further, he said the road connectivity and towers for mobile connectivity which are long pending grievances of residents of Aru, has been taken up and the same will be resolved in a short time.
The DC finalized the site for construction of the Mini Secretariat in Pahalgam. He said public infrastructure development is the backbone for efficient delivery of public services.
Dr Singla visited the receiving station at Batkoot and was assured that the work on the station is nearing completion and will be operational shortly.
He also visited several works of RDD Pahalgam being executed under District CAPEX and MGNREGA and reviewed the progress of work on Sub District Hospital in Pahalgam.
The DC also took stock of the functioning of the Solid Waste Treatment Plant at Pahalgam and directed the municipality to ensure that the plant is utilized at full capacity and laid stress on scientific disposal of waste.
Dr Singla was accompanied by CPO, SDM, Tehsildar, BDO and members of civil society and media fraternity.
Block Diwas was held at the headquarter of block Khoveripora where PRI members and the people raised various demands.
While addressing the gathering, the BDC chairman emphasized upon coordination among the line departments for overall development of Khoveripora block.
Speaking on the occasion, ADDC Bashir Ahmad Wani said that Block Diwas has proved to be very fruitful in addressing the right demands of people and works programmes are framed as per the need and demands of people which are discussed in Gram Sabhas.
He said that mass awareness about the schemes and programmes is the primary duty of the employees of the concerned departments and PRI must ensure the ground implementation of the schemes in true sprit like Sehat card registration, PMAY , PM Kisan, MUMKIN, etc.
Block Diwas programme was also held at PHC ChekiWangund in DooruAnantnag.
On the occasion, several delegations registered their grievances with the concerned government functionaries, while some grievances were redressed on spot, others were taken up with concerned departments for time bound redressal.
The event was presided over by ADC Anantnag, Gulzar Ahmad.
Addressing the gathering ADC said that PRIs and officials have to redress grievances in a coordinated manner. He said formulation of district plans as per local demands and redressal of local issues is critical for overall development.
DDC member Akhter Kasana and BDC Chairperson Miss Rooma Akhter were present on the occasion and impressed on the officials to ensure timely completion of all works.
