Baramulla, : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Bhupinder Kumar Tuesday launched a Plantation drive at Gulnar Park, here by planting Chinar saplings.
The Chinar plantation drive was organized by the Department of Floriculture Baramulla.
On the occasion, the DC said that the campaign has been started with the purpose to increase the green cover in the district and in coming days more such plantation drives will be initiated across the district.
Asserting on maintaining green cover, the DC directed concerned to ensure planting of Chinar plants at public parks, gardens and schools across the district. He asked the concerned to take proper care of the plants to ensure these are grown safely at all spots.
On the occasion, the DC was briefed by the District Floriculture Officer Baramulla that the department is providing free Chinar plants for plantation which is meant for better greenery and clean environment.
