IRP-14th Battalion hosts Debate Competition at GHSS Channi

Jammu :  A Debate Competition/Seminar was Tuesday organized by the IRP-14th battalion here at Government Higher Secondary School Channi Himmat on the topic “Conservation and Protection of Endangered Species.”
The event was held as part of its Civic Action Programme and under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav in which both boys and girls participated. A Plantation drive was also organized and local medicinal plants such as amla, neem, tulsi, etc were planted in the school premises.
The Boys and Girls speakers were screened by Jury members and under each category i.e. Boys/Girls the winners were awarded with cash reward of Rs five thousand, three thousand and one thousand respectively for 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions. The rest of participants were awarded with certificates of participation.
Speaking on the occasion, Anita Sharma-SSP Commandant IRP-14th BN. advised the officers/officials as well as School management to take part in all such social activities apart from their routine curriculum to make their surroundings and living areas clean & pollution free to lead a healthy life & for better tomorrow. She also thanked Shahnaz Choudhary, Principal Govt. Higher Secondary School Channi Himmat Jammu who spared time to grace the occasion and make this event successful.
The event ended with a vote of thanks by Raja Adil Hamid Ganaie-SP Dy. Comdt. IRP-14th bn. Two minutes of silence was also observed for paying homage to the Martyrs. Later, High-tea was also organized for participants/staff members of Higher Secondary School Channi Himmat Jammu.
