Sunderbani : A plantation drive was Tuesday conducted under “Har Gaon Hariyali” here at village Talla Tanda. The Plantation drive was conducted by Sunderbani Forest Range of Nowshera Forest Division. DDC member Rajinder Sharma along with a number of locals participated in the plantation drive.
The drive was started by planting Peepal trees at Cremation ground followed by plantation of fruit and medicinal plants. Plants like Jamun, Bottle brush, Lemon, Laquat and Peepal plants were planted.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajinder Sharma said that plantation on village common land is being done in collaboration with the Forest Department to enhance the greenery.
Range Forest Officer Sunderbani, Rakesh Verma said that Sunderbani Forest Range has conducted a number of such drives under Har Gaon Hariyali at different locations. He appealed to the participants to help the Forest Department in preventing wildfires during the approaching dry season.
The drive was conducted under the direct supervision of Conservator of Forests West Circle Rajouri Vivek Verma and Divisional Forest officer Nowshera, Neelima Shah.
