B’pora: On the direction of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr.Owais Ahmad, the District Administration Bandipora on Monday launched a massive crackdown on illegal mining and seized nine vehicles in the district.
District Mining Officer Bandipora said in order to curb illegal mining, nine vehicles were seized with the assistance of Bandipora Police. The vehicles were ferrying minerals illegally from the past 03 days in the district.
He said besides this, the approach roads leading to NallahArin have been snapped at Gamroo to quell the illegal extraction of minor minerals from ArinNallah.
DMO warned of strict action against the illegal practice and urged people to cooperate with the administration. “Action under relevant sections of law will be taken against anyone found to be indulged in illegal mining”, he added.
