Lok Adalat awards Rs 1.06 crore as settlement amount in MACT, Bank cases in Doda

Doda : In compliance to the directions issued by NALSA & SALSA; A National Lok Adalat was held Saturday at District Court Complex, Doda under the supervision of Mehmood Ahmed Chowdhary, Addl. District & Sessions Judge, Doda. Different types of cases were taken up for settlement, which includes MACT Claims, Bank Recovery cases, Bank pre-litigation cases, Municipality Cases, Labour cases, Criminal compoundable cases, Cases under Negotiable Instruments Act, Matrimonial, Civil cases and Traffic Challans.
Two benches were constituted for disposal of the cases. The First Bench was headed by Mehmood Ahmed Chowdhary, Addl. District & Sessions Judge and he was assisted by Neena Thakur, Additional Spl. Mobile Magistrate, to deal with MACT, Pre-litigation cases of Bank Loan Recovery and other cases pending in the Court of Addl. District & Sessions Judge, Doda.
The Second bench was headed by Prem Sagar, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Doda and assisted by Sheikh Babar Hussain, District Mobile Magistrate (T), Doda to deal with the cases of Civil and criminal compoundable cases, Matrimonial, Labour disputes, N.I. Act, Electricity and Water bills and Traffic Challan.
The bench headed by Mehmood Ahmed Chowdhary settled 26 MACT cases and awarded a settlement amount of Rs. 84,95,000/- (Rupees Eighty Four Lac ninety five thousand).
In the pre-litigation and post-litigation cases, 13 Civil Cases pending and Recovery cases of different Banks including JK Bank, SBI, PNB and EDB were settled.
A total 30 cases were taken up and an amount of Rs 21,57,549/- (Twenty one Lac fifty seven thousand five hundred forty nine only) of Bank recovery was settled. The parties agreed to pay the settled amount in one installment as well as in more than one installments.
A total amount settled in the Ist Bench is Rs. 1,06,52,549/- (Rupees One Crore six Lac fifty two thousand five hundred and forty nine only).
