DLSA Poonch organises National Lok Adalat

2090 cases settled by way of Mediation, Conciliation

Poonch : A National Lok Adalat was organized Saturday in District Courts Poonch under supervision of Supreme Court and High Court of J&K.
Judicial Officers, Bar Members, Bank Employees, litigants and the general public participated with full enthusiasm.
While starting National Lok Adalat Chairman DLSA Poonch Ashok Kumar Shavan (Pr. Distt. & Sessions Judge) highlighted the positive aspects of Lok Adalat and described it as the need of the hour and asked the general public to come forward to take benefit of these Lok Adalat.
At District H.Q eight benches were constituted. First bench was presided by Ashok Kumar Shavan, Chairman DLSA (Pr. Distt & Sessions Judge) Poonch and assisted by Advocate Sanjay Raina Poonch. Second Bench was presided by Madan Lal CJM (Chairman TLSC Poonch) and assisted by Wajahat Hussain Kazmi, Secretary DLSA Poonch. Third Bench was presided by Sarfraz Nawaz, Special mobile magistrate Poonch and assisted by Advocate Dheeraj Kour.
Forth Bench was presided over by Tabraiz Ahmed, District mobile magistrate and assisted by Advocate Mohammad Aslam Chouhan. The fifth Bench comprised Basharat Hussain Additional Deputy Commissioner, who was assisted by Jahangir Khan, Tehsildar. Sixth Bench was presided by Zaheer Ahmed Kafi Assistant Commissioner Revenue and assisted by Anjum Bashir Khan, Tehsildar Haveli. The Seventh Bench was presided over by Abid Hussain Shah, Assistant Labour Commissioner.
Eighth Bench was presided by Shami Kumar Sharma, ARTO Poonch. Ninth Bench was presided over by Mushtaq Hussain, Executive Officer Municipality.
The Surankote bench was presided Manzoor Ahmed Khan, Chairman TLSC , while Mendhar bench was presided by Shazia Choudhary Chairman TLSC (JMIC) and assisted by Advocate Mohd Rashid Mughal and Advocate Shamim Ahmed.
A total 2325 cases were taken up by all the benches in Saturday’s Lok Adalat including civil, criminal, MACT, Bank Recovery, Pre-Litigation and other cases, while 2090 cases were settled by way of Mediation, Conciliation and compromise.
Six MACT cases, 68 Criminal cases and 33 civil cases were also decided and a total amount of Rs.7680671/- was settled.
