6 arrested for illegal extraction & transportation of minerals in Budgam: Police

Budgam. : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested 06 persons and seized 05 vehicles including 4 tippers and a JCB involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Budgam.
In a statement issued on Saturday police said that that officers from Police Station Chadoora have arrested four persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of clay from government land at Nagam Chadoora.
Stating that three vehicles including two tippers and a JCB were also seized from the spot, police in it’s statement said that the accused arrested have been identified as Fayaz Ahmed Dar son of Ghulam Rasool Dar resident of Chadoora Budgam, Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday son of Mohammad Ramzan Khanday resident of Chontinar Charar-e-Sharief, Abdul Majeed Teli son of Abdul Kareem Teli resident of Wathoora Budgam and Irshad Ahmad Shah son of Ghulam Hassan Shah resident of Chadoora.
Police in its statement further said that in a similar action by officers from PS Khansahib, 2 persons identified as Mudasir Ahmad Nengroo son of Ghulam Mohiuddin resident of Banderpora Khansahib and Muzamil Mushtaq son of Mushtaq Ahmed Mir resident of Bugroo Khansahib were arrested for illegal extraction of minerals at Nalla Shali-Ganga Draigam Khansahib, stating therein further that two tippers bearing registration numbers JKO1S-2807 and JK02AF-8497 were also seized.
“All the accused have been shifted to Police Stations where they remain in custody”, reads further the police statement, adding that “cases under relevant sections of law stands registered at respective Police Stations and further investigation have been initiated”. Police in it’s above referred statement asked people not to indulge in illegal mining activities from any Nallah as it is the violation of Government rules. Police in it’s statement also warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and asked people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
