U/17 inter-district volleyball tournament declared open in Rajouri

Rajouri : Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal on Friday declared open J&K level Under 17 inter-district volleyball tournament, here at mini sports stadium.
The tournament is being organised by the District Youth Services and Sports Department and sports persons from Nineteen districts of J&K are participating in the event.
While interacting with the players, the Deputy Commissioner said games are important for the physical and mental fitness of the individuals and they also help in strengthening self confidence which is necessary for self reliance.
Highlighting the objective of the event, he said that the motto was to nurture sports talent of youths and encourage the young minds to participate in constructive activities.
Reiterating the Government’s commitment to promote sports activities, the DC said that the necessary measures are being taken to provide the best possible platforms to the budding players where they can showcase their talent.
Earlier, while listing the sports activities being organised in the district, the DYSSO informed that only this year 53000 students participated in different sports events organised by the department.
