Notorious thief arrested in Budgam: Police

Budgam : Police on Friday said that it has arrested a notorious thief in budgam and also recovered stolen items & cash amount of ₹20,000/ from his possession.
In a statement issued on Friday police said “Police Station Chadoora on March 9, this year received a written complaint from Abdul Gani Dar son of Abdul Rahman Dar resident of Daulatpora Chadoora who alleged therein that one person namely Zahid Muzaffar @Raja Don son of Mohammad Muzaffar Sheikh resident of Gopalpora Chadoora obstructed his way at Wathora Sheikhpora Chadoora and snatched his Mobile phone and Wallet containing some cash, driving license, ATM card and other important receipts and fled from the spot”. Stating that the accused, according to the complaint, further withdrew an amount of ₹37000/- using ATM PIN of complainant, who had kept his ATM PIN in his wallet, Police in it’s statement further said that a case vide FIR No. 32/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Chadoora and investigation was initiated.
“During the course of investigation, a police team headed by SHO PS ChadooraInsp Mir Sajad Bashir taking advantage of modern technology, conducted series of raids at multiple locations & subsequently arrested the accused person near Mochwa Railway Bridge”, reads the above quoted police statement, adding that “on the disclosure of the said accused a cash amount of ₹20,000/-, snatched Mobile Phone, 01 Feature Mobile phone etc were recovered”, stating therein further that “further investigation into the case is going on and more recoveries are also expected”.
In the concluding para of its statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding antisocial activities in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in antisocial will be dealt with as per law.
Police in it’s statement also said that consistent action against the anti-social elements are taken to re-assure community members that Police has resolved to act tough against individuals involved in criminal activities.
