Mahaa Gram Sabha held at GHS Reshipora, Awantipora

Pulwama : The DDC Chairperson Pulwama, Syed Bari Indrabi Friday chaired a Maha Gram Sabha at Government High School Reshipora, Awantipora, here to discuss the formulation, preparation of Budget Estimates (Area Development Plan) under DDC/BDC and PRI grants for the year 2022-23.
The DDC Chairperson in his address urged the people to participate in Gram Sabhas for proper planning and development of their villages and to ensure genuineness of the works being executed.
Indrabi said, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj has revised Rural Area Development Plan Formulation and Implementation (RADPFI), in a view to transforming rural India and ensuring rural prosperity. He also said that this is a continuation to the Ministry’s efforts towards promotion of spatial rural planning and would create pathways for rural transformation by developing a perspective for long term planning in villages.
He added that it will enable effective land use planning in rural areas and in improving the quality of life in rural areas.
Indrabi said this aims at ensuring ease of living in villages and help minimizing migration to big cities by providing all necessary infrastructure and facilities and also resources and opportunities for livelihood in rural areas. It will augment development of vibrant economic clusters in rural areas, which would contribute to the socio-economic development of rural areas.
The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Pulwama, Dr. Sheikh Ab Aziz assured the PRIs that their genuine developmental issues shall be resolved on priority.
He directed the officers to conduct regular field visits and ensure that all public grievances shall be redressed timely.
Earlier, PRIs and senior citizens projected various developmental issues of the area before the chair.
DDC Member Awantipora-II; BDC Chairperson Awantipora, Officers from District Administration and PRIs, besides, general public attended the Mahaa Gram Sabha.
