DC Bandipora, reviews progress of works under Distt Capex Budget

Bandipora, : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad Friday reviewed the progress of works proposed under District Capex Budget (DCB) 2021-22.
Meeting reviewed the progress of projects under the District Capex Plan, 2021-22 including physical status of projects targeted for completion in the current fiscal and took a comprehensive review on the progress of developmental projects undertaken by various departments.
It was given out that 253 works have been completed out of the total 803 approved works executed under Area Development Fund including DDC, BDC and other PRI grants.
Officers while informing about physical progress under Capex Budget from previous fiscal till date, informed that that 2185 works have so far been completed out of the total target of 3339 works of last fiscal in various sectors including MGNREGA works, DDC Grants, BDC grants etc while 1033 works have been completed out of the target of 1530 works during the current fiscal.
Dr Owais directed the officers to follow the works and bills regularly for timely completion of works and payments. He directed the concerned to physically verify the progress of works on a regular basis besides geo-tagging of all RDD works. He stressed on adopting zero tolerance against corruption.
The DC assured that payments of all completed works will be made within stipulated time. He said any contractor who fails to meet the deadlines shall be identified and blacklisted.
He also said that unnecessary delay in developmental projects is unacceptable and warned of strict action against officers and officials responsible for delays in execution of works.
Officers informed that Rs 529 Crores have been earmarked for the financial year 2021-22 with major thrust on Jal Jeevan Mission (51%), PMGSY (21%), Rural development Department (8%), Education & Health (8%) etc.
Dr Owais said that 3339 works have been targeted for completion for the financial year 2021-22 which includes 2069 under CSS, 1166 under Area Development, 97 under regular and 7 under NABARD.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that district administration is committed to ensure all development projects/works are completed within a set timeline. He stressed on the concerned officers/officials to take all possible measures to accelerate the pace of the ongoing works for their time-bound completion and directed for regular monitoring of works.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner Development Abdul Rashid Dass, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat Syed Altaf Hussain Mosvi, Executive Engineer REW, BDOs and other senior officials of the district.
