Kupwara: The Vice Chairman District Development Council (VC-DDC), Kupwara, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir Thursday commissioned transformers to various villages of Wavoora DDC constituency to fulfill the long pending demand of the people of these villages.
The Vice Chairman commissioned 10 transformers of 63 KV capacities for public use in different villages under DDUJY and PMDP schemes of the Power department. The locations where the transformers got installed include Hajam Mohallah Khurhama, New Colony Khurhama, JNV Colony Potushai, Khodi, Surigam and Aftab Mohallah Doniwari, besides, 4 different places in Warnow village.
Mir said that the power supply equipment is getting augmented day by day and people are witnessing change in terms of fast development of their areas. He assured the people that they will get more facilities in coming times which include improvement in power scenario.
The Vice Chairman directed the concerned engineers to ensure power supply as per schedule to the far flung areas of the Lolab sub division. Meanwhile, the people of these villages have expressed gratitude for installation of transformers in their villages.
