ADDC interacts with women SHG members; inspects road construction work, developmental projects

Kishtwar : On the eve of the iconic week celebration under the ageis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav, Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Sham Lal Thursday presided over a public meet organised by Rural Development Department here at Sounder Dachhan.
He was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Panchayat Zakir Hussain Wani; Chief Horticulture officer Mushtaq Ahmed Wani; Chief Agriculture Officer S K Bhagat; Tehsildar Dachhan, BDO concern, XEn PMGSY besides other concerned officers.
BDC chairman Dachhan Ravi Kumar, local PRIs and prominent citizens also took part in the public meeting.
The Public meet deliberated on various aspects and bottlenecks faced in the effective implementation of the resettlement and rehabilitation (R&R) plan of Pakal Dul Hydroelectric Power Projects.
The ADDC stressed on the locals and PRIs to work in a collaborative manner to chalk out the work plan of RR for the area.
Meanwhile, the Department Heads of Agriculture and allied sectors and Department of labour and employment imparted awareness to locals about various beneficiary schemes including PM-SYM etc.
During the programme the district Administration also felicitated the Women Job Card holders, mates and meritorious girl students of the area to commemorate the International Women’s week.
Later, ADDC also interacted with the members of Self Help Groups (UMEED) and discussed many issues with them.
During interaction, ADDC was informed that presently there are 140 SHGs in the block Dachhan covering 1200 families.
He asked heads of the agriculture and allied key departments to work in tandem with SHGs to disseminate awareness about the beneficiary oriented schemes so that their socio-economic upliftment is ensured.
The ADDC Kishtwar also inspected PMGSY road and took stock of the ongoing execution work on Ikhala to Lopara road.
He directed the XEn PMGSY and contractor agency to mobilise the resources to complete the project in a stipulated time frame.
Laying special thrust on the quality of work, he directed the BDO and Tehsildar to monitor the MGNREGA,14th FC ADP work regularly and submit the report on a daily basis to his office.
En-route, the ADDC Kishtwar sensitised the drivers and the commuters to follow the traffic rules, while plying on the roads.
