ACB traps and arrests Patwari Halqa Brein Nishat, Chowkidar for demanding bribe

Srinagar :  The Jammu & Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (J&K ACB) on Thursday said that it has trapped and arrested Asif Farooq Wani, Patwari, Halqa Brein Nishat, Srinagar and Chowkidar Nazir Ahmad Dar for demanding and accepting bribe amount of Rs. 10000/- for issuance of Fardi Naqsha Intikhaab.In a statement issued on Thursday the Jammu & Kashmir Anti Corruption Bureau (J&K ACB) said “a written complaint was received. In the complaint the complainant had alleged that Asif Farooq Wani, Patwari, Halqa Brein Nishat, Srinagar and Chowkidar Nazir Ahmad Dar are demanding Rs. 10,000/- as bribe for issuance of Fardi Naqsha Intikhaab of land in favour of the complainant”.
Stating that on receiving yhe complaint Case FIR No. 08/2022 U/S 7 PC Act 1988 r/w 120-B IPC was registered in Police Station ACB Srinagar and investigation taken up, the J&K ACB in it’s statement said that during the course of investigation, a trap team was constituted which laid a successful trap and caught red-handed Nazir Ahmad Dar, Chowkidar while demanding and accepting bribe amount of Rs. 10,000/- on behalf of Asif Farooq Wani, Patwari, Halqa Brien Nishat, Srinagar from the complainant.
“Both the above named accused were arrested and taken into custody by ACB Team”, the statement reads “the bribe money was also recovered from the possession of the accused in presence of independent witnesses and immediately after the trap, search was conducted in residential houses of the accused”, stating therein further that investigation into the case is on.
