Bandipora : The One Stop Centre- Sakhi Bandipora was awarded as UT’s ‘Best Performing OSC’ on International Women’s Day during the celebration of the Day at Tagore Hall, Srinagar.
The award was presented to OSC Bandipora byAdvisor to Lieutenant Governor J&K, Farooq Ahmad Khan in presence of Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Pandurang K Pole, Mission Director, Women Empowerment, Social Welfare Department, JK, Shabnam Shah Kamili.
One-Stop Centre- Sakhi was established in Bandipora in 2020 aimed at providing an array of services, from skill development to psychological assistance to violence affected women under one roof.
The centre is exclusively for the women and is being run by the female staff and is serving women affected by violence, in private or at public places, within the family, community or at workplace.
The centre is having representatives from health, education, administration, Police besides the resources persons from various departments who assist the aggrieved women folk. The centre also provides awareness about various women-specific schemes besides skill development initiatives and other activities.
Meanwhile, SAKHI – One Stop Centre Bandipora also participated and celebrated International Women’s Day at Mini Secretariat, Bandipora in collaboration with District Administration Bandipora on Tuesday and District Legal Services Authority Bandipora.
Other departments that participated in the said event include Education, MSK, ICDS, ICPS, Health and other sectoral line departments of the Administration.
