GCW Udhampur celebrates In’l Women Day, 2022

Udhampur : Women Development Cell in collaboration with Cultural Cell of Government College for Women, Udhampur celebrated the International Women’s day with great fervour and enthusiasm under the supervision of Dr. Seema Sharma, Convenor Cultural Cell and Prof Sumita Rao, Co-convenor, Women Development Cell.
Juhi Manhas Pathania, Vice Chairperson DDC Udhampur was the chief guest on the occasion, while Prof. Minu Mahajan, Principal of the college was the guest of honour.
The programme was initiated with the lightening of the traditional lamp and Saraswati Vandana followed by a cultural event including different activities like folk dances, poetry recitation, skit etc.
Speaking on the occasion, Juhi Manhas Pathania, emphasized on women empowerment and motivated the students to achieve their desired goal in their life by strong will power. She saluted the indomitable courage of women and said that women are equal and integral part of development. She recalled the contribution of women in the global movements for the overall development and betterment of the globe as well as the society.
The programme was anchored by Neha Sharma, a student of B.Sc. Sem-I. Programme concluded with plantation of two saplings by the chief guest and the guest of honour.
Earlier, in the morning session, a blood donation camp was also organized by NSS and NCC wing of GCW Udhampur in collaboration with District Hospital Udhampur in which staff and students participated actively.
Among others, HOD Music, Dr Seema Sharma, HOD Hindi, Prof. A K Raina, HOD Chemistry, Prof. Kewal Kumar, HOD Zoology, Sanjeet Kumar, HOD Botony, Prof. Ashwani, HOD Mathematics, Dr Ashok Kumar, Assistant Prof. Yash Kumar and other faculty members besides teaching and Non teaching staff and students of the College were present.
