DDC Rajouri presides over weekly block diwas at Khawas, Seeks people’s cooperation in dev process

Rajouri : Continuing its efforts to reach out to the common masses to redress their grievances at their doorsteps, the District Administration Rajouri Wednesday organised a public grievances redressal camp at Khawas as a part of Weekly Block Divas program.
The event was presided over by the District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal.
Among the others, BDC Chairperson, ADC Kalakote, CPO, ACD, CMO, SE PWD, DSWO, and other district and sectoral officers attended the public meeting.
The public and their representatives apprised the DDC about a number of issues and demands of their areas.
Specific issues raised during the event included completion of work on Koteranka to Khawas road, deployment of adequate police force, drug menace, special recruitment for lady police constables, tehsil office to be set up, examination hall to be constructed for the students, sanctioning of a GDC for Khawas, upgradation of PHC Khawas to CHC level etc.
Other issues included meeting of shortage of doctors and teachers, construction of Khawas to Gunda road, upgradation of HS Badal to HSS level, JK bank facility at Khawas, renovation of school building, posting of pharmacist at Dahleri health institution, start of work on bridge at Dahleri, filtration plant at Dalheri, SRTC bus service from Khawas to Jammu and Khawas to Rajouri etc.
Officers of the concerned departments responded to the demands raised by the public during the event and also highlighted a number of schemes and programs being implemented by their departments in the district and motivated the public to avail the benefits of the same.
Responding to the issue of Koteranka to Khawas road, the concerned informed that the road will be made traffic worthy within 20 days.
The DDC gave a patient hearing to all the issues projected by the public during the event and assured them that all their genuine concerns would be redressed in a phased manner.
Underlining the objective of the block diwas, he said that this public outreach event is aimed at better coverage of government schemes, enhanced interaction with common man and effective monitoring of the developmental projects.
Highlighting several Govt schemes and programs meant for the welfare of the general public, he urged the people to come forward and avail the benefits of the same.
The DDC stressed on frontline workers and public representatives to work in tandem for the prompt delivery of essential services and holistic and sustainable development of the region.
He also asked the concerned officers to gear up their field machinery and ensure that the difficulties of the people are addressed and resolved at the earliest.
A no smoking pledge was also taken during the event and the DDC asked the concerned stakeholders to make all possible efforts to curb the menace of drug abuse in the district.
He also sought public cooperation in the fight against the drug menace to make Rajouri a drug free district.
