DC Budgam holds Public Darbar at Narbal, Visits schools, fish farm, hostel, other sites

Budgam : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza Wednesday held a public darbar at ICDS Office Narbal, here.
On the occasion, the DC stressed on up-gradation of existing health and education related infrastructure to provide better healthcare and education facilities to the people in the area. He instructed concerned to ensure all doctors and para- medical staff attend their duties regularly besides ensuring all facilities including X-Ray and Ultrasound are functioning smoothly at the PHC.
He also emphasized on improvement in both electricity and water supply to the locals under different schemes. He stated that work on various road projects including Narbal- Wadwan road and other links shall be taken up for widening and macadamization in the area.
The DC directed that proper drainage network, public conveniences and facilities including Animal Husbandry shall also be created on war footing in the Narbal area.
He further instructed Panchayat members to ensure cleanliness and maintenance of proper sanitation in all panchayat blocks of Narbal. He urged PRIs to ensure that people ensure a ban on use of one time plastic items and dumping of garbage roadside and in open areas. He said that instead separate dustbins shall be used for proper disposal of garbage generated daily by the households.
On the occasion, various PRIs, respected elders and locals from adjoining villages raised their demands and issues including road development, degree college, playground, release of subsidy on KVIB, KVIC cases, beautification of parks, improvement in HT, LT lines and issues related to health and education with the DC and demanded prompt redressal.
The DC after giving patient hearing to the locals assured that all their genuine demands shall be taken up for the resolution.
Later the DC also visited the Fish farm at Narbal to inspect its functioning and production. He stressed on carrying out necessary renovation and restoration works there besides construction of a front gate, interior roads and other facilities are also put in place there.
The DC also inspected the work progress of the under construction 100- bedded girls hostel at Narbal and proposed site for construction of Higher Secondary School Narbal. The DC inspected various blocks at the hostel and instructed concerned to expedite work to ensure timely completion of the project.
Inspecting on spot appraisal of CAB surveillance, the DC also visited various schools including Hr Secondary School Soibugh where he interacted with teachers as well as students. He emphasized on making necessary improvements in the academics and instructed teachers to sensitize students on the importance of cleanliness and sanitation.
