Jammu : A 3-Day workshop on ‘Revisiting Board Accommodations for CWSN’ was Tuesday organized jointly by Samagra Shiksha and J&K Board of School Education J&K.
The core objective of the workshop is to revisit and formulate the different ‘Board Accommodations’ to be offered to CWSN in alignment to norms mentioned under Rights of Persons with Disability Act 2016.
The workshop was attended by Director (Academics), JKBOSE; Dr. Sandeep Jain, Joint Secretary CBSE; Dr. Mir Zafar lqbal, Director CRC Srinagar, Prof Zaid Ahmad Wani, Hassan (HoD, GMC), Dr Ab. Raashid Shah, Dept of Pediatrics, SMHS, Dr. Ravinder Jangral (Coordinator, Inclusive Education Samagra Shiksha), Suresh Gauria& Ranjeet Manhas (Academic Officers-JKBOSE), Dr.Porush Sharma (DSEJ), Rafiq Hassan (SCERT) and other senior officers from JKBOSE.
Project Director, Samagra Shiksha, Deep Raj Kanathia, in his message revealed that under Inclusive Education, a lot of initiatives are being taken up through the department but much more is needed to be done to provide an equitable platform for them.
Dr. Farooq Peer, Director Academics JKBOSE stressed upon the need of revisiting the board accommodations for CWSN of J&K and as such workshops need to be conducted frequently.
Naila Neelofar, Assistant Director, JKBOSE moderated the programme and conducted a technical presentation for the participants.
The special invitee Dr. Sandeep Jain, JS CBSE also committed to provide all possible support to JKBOSE in framing new rules for offering Board Accommodations to CWSN.
Another Four Days workshop to train the faculty of School Education Department for development of e-content for DIKSHA (Digital Initiative for knowledge Sharing) also commenced under Samagra Shiksha Tuesday.
Deep Raj Kanethia, Project Director Samagra Shiksha, inaugurated the workshop and apprised the participants about the importance of digital content and hybrid mode of teaching and DIKSHA platform as a freely available pool of high quality learning resources.
He stressed that Educators must remain well acquainted with the latest technologies and developments in the education sector. He further reiterated the role of teachers in taking the technology inside the classroom. Professor AmrinderBehra, Joint Director CIET / NCERT addressed the participants virtually and discussed at length the roadmap prepared by CIET NCERT for digital education in accordance with NEP 2020 and encouraged the participants to learn new tools for creating high quality teaching learning material. Experts from CIET NCERT Prof Indu Kumar and Dr. Angel Ratnabai presented the sessions on the first day.
During the course of the workshop the participants learnt the process of developing e-content including script writing, story boarding, graphics, animation and stop-motion using free and open source software. The workshop was coordinated by Dr. Syed Imran Bukhari along with Technical Coordination done by Ms. Mahwash Shahid Goni, Ms. Surbhi Sharma and Ms. RenuBala.
