Rajouri : District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal Tuesday reviewed the sector wise performance under Good Governance Index here in a meeting of the concerned officers held in the Conference Hall of the PWD Dak Bunglow.
Officers who attended the meeting included CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; SE Hydraulics, JP Singh; DSEO, Bilal Rashid Mir; CMO, Dr Shamim Un Nissa Bhatti; DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt and other district and sectoral officers.
At the outset, the DSEO informed that the Good Governance Index is a uniform tool to assess the status of Governance and the impact of various interventions of the Government in the larger public interest.
He also apprised that the District Good Governance index is being monitored by the Government of Jammu & Kashmir for improving the efficiency across J&K. The data furnished by all the concerned District/Sectoral officers was discussed in detail.
Addressing the officers in the meeting, the DDC said that the index would provide a framework to assess the performance of the district in specific sectors and collect useful information for formulating and implementing suitable strategies to improve ease-of-living and service delivery.
He asked officers to put in place added efforts for a prompt, smooth and hassle-free public service delivery mechanism in the district.
He also directed the concerned officers to ensure that necessary benefits under different schemes and programmes percolate down to the last beneficiary.
The DDC also asked the concerned to achieve the physical and financial targets within the set timelines to provide necessary benefits to the general public.
