MSK Kishtwar, DLSA celebrate Int’l Women’s Day

Kishtwar  : Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK) Kishtwar in collaboration with District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) Kishtwar Tuesday celebrated International Women Day 2022 here at Government Girls Higher Secondary School.
The programme was organised on the instruction of Deputy Commissioner Ashok Sharma and conducted under the supervision of Nodal officer, MSK (DSWO) Tariq Parveaz Qazi.
Secretary DLSA, (Sub-Judge) Imran Hussain Wani, was the chief guest on the occasion, while Principal of the host school Sunita Sharma was the Guest of Honor. Women Welfare Officer MSK, Roohie Shamma, District Co-ordinator MSK, Shanu Rana, DLSA members and a large number of girl students were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary DLSA said that the main objective of organizing this seminar is to make women aware of their entitlements under various enactments.
Women welfare officer, MSK, Roohie Shamma talked about various issues faced by women and the ways for creating opportunities for Women in terms of education and profession in her field of interest without any restrictions or limitations. She said in this way society can ensure Women Empowerment and break the social bias.
District coordinator Shanu Rana spoke about the importance of the day and also shared success stories of prominent Indian women like Jyoti Rao Phule, Kiran Bedi and Gina Dass etc. Besides, she enlightened the girl students about various government sponsored schemes initiated for the empowerment and social-economic uplift of women.
Speaking on the occasion, Advocate Pooja Shan highlighted the stringent laws that have been enacted to safeguard women at home as well as at workplace.
Several Girl students and teachers of GHSS also spoke on the occasion.
Meanwhile during the programme, the Chief Guest felicitated 7 students who spoke on the theme “gender equality Tuesday for a sustainable tomorrow-Break the Bias.”
The vote of thanks was presented by Principal GHSS Kishtwar.
