DLSA Shopian organizes Seminar on ‘Int’l Women’s Day’

Shopian  : A seminar on the celebration of International Women’s Day under ‘AzadiKaAmrutMahaotsav’ was Tuesday organized by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Shopian in collaboration with Imtiyaz Memorial Degree College Shopian, at Auditorium of IMGDC Gagren, here.
The Seminar was presided over by the DLSA Secretary Shopian, Feroz Ahmad Khan .
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary DLSA said that the main objective of organizing this seminar is to make women in general aware of their entitlements under various enactments being provided to them.
He said that the DLSA Shopian provides free legal aid to the women who face violence and discrimination in the society besides make them aware with regard to their rights and incentives being provided to them.
The faculty members of IMGDC said that they are always available for the Women in distress and working for the welfare of the Women.
The staff members and the students of IMGDC highlighted that IMGDC is providing support to many Women on daily basis and also apprised the gathering of women about their basic rights and schemes available for them in legal institutions as well as in other line departments.
They also asserted that awareness regarding laws has to be created at mass level so that women are aware about their rights.
