Kathua : Chief Education Officer, Kathua P.L. Thapa, Tuesday visited Government High School Juthana which has been designated as the venue for the base camp of the trekking program for the students of the district. He was accompanied by District Officer for the Youth Services and Sports Sunil Kumar, who is also the supervisor for the camp.
A function was organized in the premises of the School in which the students presented various cultural activities and a bonfire was also arranged. The function was attended by the students from the area, members of YSS, Staff of GHS Juthana, PRI members and the locals.
The CEO distributed trek suits and certificates among the participants. Sports uniforms were also presented to the students with extraordinary academic record.
About 120 female students from the schools around the District Kathua attended the Trekking camp organized by the District Youth Services and Sports department, Kathua in collaboration with the Directorate of School Education Jammu and Office of the Chief Education Officer, Kathua.
The camp is being supervised onsite by Kiran Slathia, Physical Education Lecturer, GHS Budhi & Naseeb Chand, Physical Education Master and Activity Coordinator for Youth Services and Sports along with about eighteen Physical Education Officers from different zones of the district.
