3 drug peddlers arrested in Bla, contraband substances recovered: Police

Baramulla | March, 5 : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested three drug peddlers in Baramulla and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued on Saturday police said that a police party of Police Station Boniyar under the supervision of SDPO Uri Junaid Wali at a checkpoint established at Bela Boniyar crossing intercepted a suspicious person identified as Naseer Khan@ Muna son of Gul Zaman Khan resident of Gubdar Trikanjan and upon checking recovered 10 grams of Heroin like substance from his possession, stating therein further that the accused has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating further in that in a similar another action, a police party of Police Station Sheeri under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla Syed Sajad Hussain at a checkpoint established at Gantamulla Payeen intercepted two suspicious persons identified as Shabir Ahmad Mir son of Mohd Samander Mir resident of Hyderpora Sopore and Feroz Ahmad Lara son of Ghulam Qadir Kara resident of Model Town Sopore and recovered 10 grams of Heroin like substance from their possession, the police in it’s statement said that the above named accused have been also arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody. “Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and further investigation set into motion”, reads the police statement further.
In the concluding para of its statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with as per law, stating therein further that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
