Budgam : Police on Thursday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Budgam and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued on Thursday police said that a Police party from Police Station Magam at a checkpoint established near Petrol Pump Magam intercepted a suspicious person carrying a polythene bag and was identified as Irfan Ahmad Beigh son of Manzoor Ahmed Beigh resident of Badran Magam . Stating that upon checking, officers recovered 480 tablets of Spasmoproxyvon Plus and 03 bottles of Codeine based syrup from the possession of the above named accused who was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody, stating therein further that a case vide FIR No. 29/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Magam and an investigation has been initiated.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with as per law, stating therein further that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
