DC Budgam holds Public Darbar at Char-i-Sharief

DM also visits Yousmarg, Inspects schools, health centres to take first-hand appraisal of facilities

Budgam  :The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza Wednesday chaired a public darbar at Townhall Char-i-Sharief.
During the programme PRI members and other respected from villages Kanidajan, Pakherpora, Char-i-Sharief town, Charawini, Zaloosa, Yousmarg areas raised their issues and demands with the DC for prompt redressals.
The demands included, adequate water and electricity supplies to all areas, macadamization of main and link roads, renovation of schools and other facilities, road development, robust drainage system, rectification of 2008 settlement records and improvement in heath facilities.
After giving patient hearing to the locals, the DC instructed concerned to take up the rectification of 2008 settlements records of Malpore residents on priority for prompt redressal.
The DC stressed on speedy completion of developmental works in Char-i-Sharief and renovation of parks, development of parking facilities and ensure better healthcare facilities are provided to the local people at all health institutions.
The DC Emphasized on proper sanitation, the DC instructed concerned Executive Officer to ensure hiring of required number of sweepers to ensure cleanliness and daily lifting of waste and its proper disposal.
He also instructed concerned to keep curb on stray dog menace in town areas.
He said that swift development process shall go across the Char-i-Sharief and directed concerned PHE Ex En to accelerate execution of works under the JJM scheme so that tap water supply is provided to all the households.
Among others, SDM Char-i- Sharief, CMO, Tehsildar, Ex Ens of various engineering wings and other concerned attended the programme.
The DC also visited various education and health centres, including Higher Secondary School Char-i-Sharief and PHC Nagal and took first-hand appraisal of facilities.
He visited various blocks and called for early completion of craft lab and also inspected ICT lab and classroom.
Later, the DC also visited Yousmarg and inspected facilities being provided to the tourists.
The DC emphasised on snow clearance from road sides, parking facilities and bus stop for hassle-free movement of tourist vehicles.
He said that all arrangements disrupted with snow fall are restored besides passed on spot directions to the concerned to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply to the Yousmarg.
On the occasion, the DC also suggested the locals, to participate in tourism activity and prepare one room accommodations for hosting tourists in their homes.
He said with involvement of locals the trend will not only promote urban tourism and footfall to the Yousmarg but also provide economic resources to the locals.
