Anantnag : The weekly Block Diwas programme was Wednesday held at three locations in Anantnag district.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr Piyush Singla visited several places in Mattan, while ADDC presided over the function at Dak Bungalow Achabal.
Dr Singla on the occasion visited PHC Mattan and took stock of the overall functioning of the PHC. He interacted with patients in the OPD Section to enquire about the facilities and patient care.
The DC directed the officials to spread awareness regarding Jan Aushadi drugs and impressed upon them that misinformation regarding the drugs must be dismissed with facts regarding potency and efficacy of drugs. He emphasized that doctors must be sensitized regarding the same.
Dr Singla inspected the functioning of the microbiology lab and directed the employees to develop a reporting system so that test reports can be shared via email or whatsapp to reduce unnecessary hospital visits.
He also made a fervent appeal to people to enroll themselves under PM SEHAT. He said a mega registration campaign has been launched in the district and people should visit their nearest CSC and get a golden card.
The DC visited the Panchayat Halqa Huthmurra in Block Khoveripora and inspected two recently developed roads and an irrigation canal. The locals thanked the district administration for taking up the work which connects several orchards to the main road. He directed the engineering wing to stress on the quality of developmental works.
A surprise inspection of Sub Treasury Mattan was also conducted. The DC inspected the attendance of the employees and directed the Sub Treasury office to streamline functioning and avoid unnecessary delay in processing of bills.
Among others, CPO, Dy CMO and BMO Mattan accompanied the DC during the visit.
Block Diwas was also held at Dak Bungalow Achabal and was presided over by ADDC Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad Wani. In addition to ACP Anantnag, representatives from all line departments were present. Various grievances related to water supply, road connectivity, PMAY, etc were given a patient hearing by the ADDC.
Wani appealed to the PRIs to hold gram sabhas in all panchayat halqas and ensure that development plans for the next fiscal reflect the priorities of the people. He said that works related to development of Public Infrastructure must be prioritized. He said that the Vigilance Awareness Fortnight was concluded recently and based on the recommendations received, beneficiary lists are being sanitized. He assured that deserving beneficiaries will receive their entitlements.
ADDC Anantnag appealed the public that they must visit their nearest CSC and enroll under PM SEHAT.
The event was attended by BDC Achabal, Sarpanches and Panches of the block.
Block Diwas was also held at Budget Accomodation Sagam. PRIs, Tehildar, BDO and representatives of various line departments were present on the occasion. Among various grievances related to developmental works received, 6 grievances related to Kandiwara, 7 related to Narupura and 3 related to Sagam were resolved on spot.
The PRIs put forth various issues regarding development and public utilities. The officers present assured complete support to the PRIs in speedy resolution of the issues.
Awareness regarding PM SEHAT was disseminated with the public and the PRIs assured that they will facilitate registration in their panchayats.
