Block Divas: DC Kathua listens to public grievances at DC office complex

Kathua  : Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Rahul Yadav on Wednesday presided over the weekly Block Divas meeting held at conference hall of DC office complex.
Vice chairman DDC Kathua Raghunandan Singh; DDC Member Nagri Sandeep Majotra; BDC Chairperson Barnoti Brijeshwar Singh; Sarpanchs, Panchs and a large number of people attended the outreach programme.
Scores of individuals and deputations including PRI members projected public issues and demands of their respective areas and sought the intervention of the DC for resolving the same.
The representatives projected several issues which mainly includes better road connectivity, drinking water supply in uncovered areas and provision of uninterrupted power supply.
Vice chairman, DDC projected the issue of water problem in Khanyara and demanded early redress of the problem. He called upon the PRI representatives to avail Block divas platform to inform the administration about the problems and issues faced by the people of their areas. He said more efforts shall be made to inform people about the block divas schedule to encourage maximum people to attend the outreach program.
The BDC Chairperson Barnoti demanded construction of flood protection bunds alongside river Ujh to save the agricultural land of people vulnerable to flash floods during the rainy season.
The DDC Member Nagri demanded speedy installation of hand pumps, the drilling work of which has already been completed. He also sought repair of health Sub Centre, Bhighwan besides issue related to the poor quality of drinking water in Muthi Jagir area of his constituency.
Sarpnch, Prithi Chack demanded early completion of the water supply scheme; Sarpanch Sahar demanded road connectivity to uncovered areas of SC Mohalla, Mohalla Dhyan Singh.
Panch, Forelane West Panchayat sought steps to meet water shortage in Chanpura, while Panch Kishanpur Kandi demanded up-gradation of electric transformer in ward no 2 of his halqa.
After giving a patient hearing, the DC assured that the issues highlighted during the block Divas will be redressed through the concerned authorities in a time bound manner. He said the issues concerning the policy will be projected to the government through the proper channel. He also directed XEN PDD to inspect and report the issue of up-gradation of the transformer highlighted by the panch of kishanpur kandi panchayat halqa.
Similar directions were passed to the concerned officers for early redress of the issue and problems of the people projected during the proceedings of block diwas.
