Sheikh Fayaz inaugurates Public Park at Sohal Tanda Akhnoor

Jammu : Commissioner Secretary, Floriculture, Gardens and Parks, Sheikh Fayaz Ahmad along with Director Parks & Gardens Jammu, Jatinder Singh Monday inaugurated a Public Park here at SohalTanda, Akhnoor.
The public park expanded over an area of 30 kanals has been developed by the department with an expenditure of Rs 136 lakhs on which the work was started in 2012-13.
The park has various features like, Chain link/ grill fencing, three (3) view points, landscaping, turfing, good earth filling, tile path/walkway, high mast lights, illumination system, sprinklers, dust bins and a variety of flowers.
While addressing the public, Commissioner Secretary said that aim of the government is to focus on providing all the facilities to the individuals at their door steps, specially to senior citizens and children’s. He also took a detail review of maintenance and development of existing parks & gardens of the said area. He also issued directions for planting trees for the shade on the boundaries of park.
Commissioner Secretary said that a tulip garden for Jammu division to be developed over 40 kanals of land has been sanctioned atSansar on the demand of public and will be completed at an earliest along with other projects of the department. He said that government is keen to provide marketing and other facilities to the floriculture entrepreneurs. He said that the matter of high tech poly houses for cut flower growers is already under consideration to government.
The Commissioner Secretary expressed satisfaction over the working of floriculture department and directed the officers to maintain standards. The Commissioner Secretary also urged the public to maintain cleanliness of the park and make use of the dustbins.
Meanwhile, he also interacted with the PRI’s and listened to their demands. The PRIs raised various concerns of public importance. The Commissioner Secretary assured the local representatives and the public that all their genuine demands will be considered and action shall be taken on each of them in a time bound manner.
The Director informed the Commissioner Secretary that all the ongoing works executed by floriculture department are going on at a satisfactory pace and would be dedicated to public on assured time.
The Commissioner Secretary directed the officers to maintain quality of work and emphasized on the overall beautification of all the parks in the area.
Sarpanch and other prominent citizens of the village thanked LG administration and Chief Secretary for dedication of this park to public.
On the occasion the Deputy Director Floriculture Jammu, Sunil Singh; XEN Floriculture, DK Kaith; SDM, Akhnoor; District Floriculture officer Jammu; SarpanchKishoriLal, Panchs and other concerned officials of the department were also present.
